Based on our research, we believe this plant lures prey through the contrasting colors present on the tubes. The tube is green with contrasting red dots, which may lure prey to it. When tested under a UV light, we found that the red dots emitted the unique purple light. These contrasting colors and light properties may be responsible for luring prey. The plant most likely traps the plant inside the tube, possibly with the sticky coating it possesses. Looking at the pH of the liquid found inside the tube, we can guess that it kills and digests its prey in the tube with the liquid. It is extremely acidic, and burned our teacher's hand when she touched it. Based on this, we believe that whatever prey this plant catches would be killed very quickly. The size of the tube lead us to believe that the prey of this plant is primarily small insects no longer than one centimeter long.
